daddy's little boy

When I had a boy I hoped he would be a "mommy's boy", I've heard so many mothers talk about the bond they share with their boys. So like all planners I planned how he would adore me, how he would say my name first, follow me around... you get the point.

Well he does love me and I love him but I'm not the star of the show. Myles has a serious affinity for his dad. this song so describes them:

"I've been watchin you dad, aint that cool?

I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.

And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.

We got cowboy boots and camo pants

Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad?

I want to do everything you do.

So I’ve been watching you."

We got back home and I went to the barn

I bowed my head and I prayed real hard

Said, “Lord, please help me help my stupid self.”

Just this side of bedtime later that night

Turnin’ on my son’s Scooby-Doo nightlight.

He crawled out of bed and he got down on his knees.

He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands

Spoke to God like he was talkin’ to a friend.

And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”

Chorus:

He said, "I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool?

I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you.

And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.

We like fixin’ things and holding momma’s hand

Yeah, we’re just alike, hey, ain’t we dad?

I want to do everything you do; so I’ve been watching you"

With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug.

Said, “My little bear is growin’ up.”

And he said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do.”

"‘Cause I’ve been watching you, dad ain’t that cool?

I’m your buckaroo, I want to be like you.

And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.

By then I’ll be strong as superman

We’ll be just alike, hey, won’t we dad

When I can do everything you do.

‘cause I’ve been watchin’ you."

Round two

Sky hold still seriously (i took 7 identical pics, she's jumpin around like a monkey!)

Taylor has officially been taking piano for 7 months.
She loves it, and I'm convinced it's her thing.
She has grown and improved leaps and bounds.
She even loves to practice, I know this is gonna last.

Can you guess who Tay's report was on?

Well?

Einstein right, I know I'm her mom but this is one mighty good puppet. When I looked at him I felt like Einstein was gazing through my soul (true story.) She worked very hard to make hers "the best", she really put a lot of thought and effort into it.

5 lil domesticated animals

Myles had an "off" pic day, this was the best i could do.
We had a great afternoon full of fun and giggles.
We were lucky enough to have a lil friend with us. We sure love having her around!
Myles loved the animals and called them "dogga" (for doggy).
Soon he will be grown and these wonderful "baby moments" will all too soon be distant memories. How I love being a mother to 3 amazing children of God.
I am so blessed to have them in my life.

this is how he does it...

We should have named him: Danger, Hazard, Menace, Threat, Venture or Storm. But we named him Myles? Well I guess it's close enough. He loves a thrill hence the "blind biking", he gets it from his dad.

Uhm I'm so going into retirement as a mother

So today started out like any other domestic diva day. I did 2 loads of laundry, put em away. Did the dishes, put em away. Then ventured down to put away the 100+ boxes of Quaker products (that I basically stole, you'll see how this fits in in a second.), dated and organized them into food storage aka put em away. Then decided I would take the kids to the Zoo. Even brought a friend.  Pretty good mom day I thought.........

Well we all arrived home I prepared dinner. Luckily Bryson was outside and noticed Skyler acting sneaky. He assumed she had candy or something like hidden in her pocket. Turns out SHE STOLE A KIDS CELL PHONE RIGHT OUT OF HIS BACK PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GASP, SHOCK, WHAT THE CRAP?????????

K we've known she has sticky fingers, but seriously! When Bryson asked her about it, she started hitting herself in her head. Multiple times. CRAZY A clear sign of guilt. Then Bryson called the "owner" and explained we had their phone. She had taken it out of  a kids backpack at school, and of course lied about it multiple times. We decided she would return it and issue an appologie herself. Here is where the thought of retirement entered my head. We drove to their apartment and had her in front to talk and apologize. They happily greeted us in and Skyler quickly handed over the phone and the treats (bryson suggested a butter finger for her sticky fingers) she had bought for him. Then she said nothing......... standing.........nothing...... I whisper in her ear "SAY SORRY" ..... "sorry"...... me "sorry for what?"........."sorry for taking your phone." I wanted a lot more, but whatever.

Hopefully tomorrow brings a little kindness to my heart, cause I need it. And hopefully I never have to blog about this particular theif ever again.

Sky's big award

Skyler received her Conquering cub award!
We are so proud of her. She has worked so hard this year and become very responsible with her school work. To receive this award she accomplished much including getting 100% on all but 2 spelling tests all year long! She has been studying very hard. She also read 20 minutes a night all year long. That just names a few.

I'm so proud of you Sky. You are such a huge joy in my life.

Spring Break (vacation at home)/ reflections on Easter

3 LIL CHEFS!
As we are at home we've been having some easter fun! Today we did a lil hunt with friends and dyed eggs. Myles even "got" it and collected eggs like crazy.

The girls have been very fun and grateful, I love being their mom!

I love the thought of Easter, a new birth.
The ultimate sacrifice by our Saviour.
The Attonement and Ressurection.
This is the Lord’s day, when we celebrate the greatest victory of all time, the victory over death.
Through him the ability to be together as a family forever.
How forever indebted I am to him

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,

Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.

I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,

That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me

Enough to die for me!

Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!

(“I Stand All Amazed,” Hymns, no. 193)

It is most definitely my favorite holiday.

The biggest looser

Bryson and I have been doing the biggest looser at his work. Yesterday was the official end. Happy to report...

I lost 12 pounds,  8.7 % overall
Bryson lost 7 pounds, 4.3 % overall

We have been working hard and eating WELL. Every pound counts right. When I get BRAVE enough I'll post before and after pics. I'm just hoping to loose a few more lbs before I take the final pic in a bikini (let me tell you the before is BAD.)
